Toronto Area, Ontario Bachelor of Animation In this program, modern 3D animation will be covered with classic 2D animation, providing students with an opportunity to understand the basic theories needed to survive in the work field. Sheridan allows you to receive hands-on instructions from professionals who have worked or are currently working in animation. Creative freedom is gives a chance for students to create scripts, characters, layouts and produce students' own films. After year 3, students will attain professional experience by participating in a 3 month work-placement. Bachelor of Game Design There is only one program like this in Canada. This program will cover the following topics: Game design and art, Narrative and script development, 2D/3D Animation and rendering, Programming and technology, Artificial intelligence, The game industry , Development and project management. Computer Animation With eight months of hands-on training, you’ll get to work with the high end 3D computer animation software, technology and techniques used by professionals. Other topics will be covered along the way: Animation principles and practices, Story structure, character development, Character performance, Directing, Cinematography, Art direction, Production design. Students will graduate with a background in 3D modelling, texturing & rendering, and digital painting & compositing. This program specializes in 3D computer-based modeling and animation. Students will be able to enhance their portfolio with Maya created projects. Animation With this program students will learn the skills needed to perform in the traditional and computer based animation industry. This program was developed to create highly-trained animators who can meet the standards of animation studios. This program will focus on the development of creativity through an artistic application of the theories of motion, timing, storytelling, entertainment and the use of the most current technology required to work successfully in the competitive world of 2D and 3D animation. The major points in this program will be pre–production, character and location design, writing, storyboarding, production, acting, timing, animation, post–production, lighting, compositing, editing and rendering. Game Art & Animation As a student of this program you will learn the skills needed to develop game art with techniques such as modeling, animation, texturing and game engine integration with high-end software/technology. This program will focus on learning the software/technology used to develop games such as 3D Studio Max, Z-Brush, Unreal Engine and other development tools. Visual Effects for Film and Television Students will learn various techniques to create visual effects for film and telivision. The program will focus on the software tools used to create visual effects and combining it with live footage. The softwares taught are Foundry's Nuke compositing program and Autodesk's Maya 3D package. Students will use the same software and tools used by industry professionals. Students will learn to apply the thories of art and use them in practice as you learn to draw, visualize and effectively apply colour principles. Students will use their traditional art and design skills to create models of characters, objects, scenes and virtual worlds. Students will learn the industry concepts like animated character performance, story and visual language, and skills in Maya for the 3D stream. Game Art & Design Students will learn character modeling, rigging, lighting and texturing from professionals who are working already in this field. Students will advance their knowledge in traditional drawing, sculpting including other aspects with 3D techniques and production methods.
